2021 SSAGO AGM Results

National SSAGO Exec

Monday 8th of March 2021

The Exec and Returning Officer are pleased to announce the results from the 2021 Annual General Meeting.

The AGM

This year has seen the AGM run like never before (you may use the word unprecedented!). For the first time ever SSAGO members were spared the early Sunday morning struggle of spring rally - nobody missed their train, there were no cold sausages handed out and there was no vote on how to vote. Nevertheless it’s been an opportunity to bring SSAGO practises into the 21st century; we hope that future Execs can analyse this online AGM and perhaps some positive change can be brought out of this difficult time.

Returning Officer

The Exec would like to give a huge thank you to the RO: Nathan from SAGGA. He has been exemplary in his execution of the role. The move to a solely online system was made easier with his quick and appropriate responses to arising matters. We would not be able to run our elections without ROs supplied by SAGGA, and we thank them for their cooperation.

The Results

We’d like to thank all our voters and candidates for their engagement with this AGM. We are pleased to announce the following candidates have been elected to the 2021-2022 SSAGO Executive Committee.

Chair: Samir Soares

Secretary: Thomas Webster

Treasurer: Alex Banwell

Members Officer: Rose Moran

Publicity: Leon Brindley

A breakdown of all the votes will be provided in the near future as part of the full AGM minutes and RO Report.

The handover period between current and new Execs will be around 6 weeks long. Please keep an eye out on our social media for when the newly elected Exec are officially ‘in charge’. In the meantime the current Exec are, as ever, available to contact at exec@ssago.org and would be happy to pass on ideas and suggestions to our successors.
